A piece of Pennsylvania history, this is a vintage AmericanAx Carpenter’s Hatchet from American Axe & Tool Co. Forged in Glassport, PA (outside of Pittsburg), this hatchet is a testament to the axe making history of Pennsylvania. American Axe and Tool Co was formed in 1889 and consistent as a conglomerate of axe manufacturers from all over the Northeast. AA&T Co was at one time the largest axe manufacturer in the world until 1921 when they were bought out by Kelly Axe Mfg. Filly restored, waxed and hung on a hickory and walnut laminate handle, hand carved by myself in our shop here in Laramie, Wyoming. Get your piece of American edge tool history today!
